Spend a day with a Barat student
The Shadowing Program is the best way for your student to experience a day in the life of a Barat student. Please know that Barat will do everything to ensure that your student’s visit is a positive and meaningful experience. Below are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions.
What is the Shadowing Program?
The Shadowing Program gives current 7th and 8th grade students the opportunity to experience a day at Barat. This day can be instrumental in helping a student determine which high school is right for him or her. This program gives a student the “insider’s” point of view. The program will pair our visitor with a current Barat student as his/her Ambassador. The visitor will attend classes and lunch with this Ambassador, and meet administrators and teachers along the way.
Who can participate in the Shadowing Program?
Any and every student is welcome to participate in the Shadowing Program. The program runs from mid October through early December and early February through late April.
What days can my student shadow?
On October 25, Dec 6, Feb 14, and Apr 24, we will have programs specifically geared for our shadow guests. In addition, students will get to experience some of the unique community aspects including but not limited to: Our house competitions, Christmas party, and spirit days! We encourage any shadow to try and attend one of these dates. However, if you cannot make one of the above dates and would like to set up another day to shadow please email email@example.com or call (636) 300-5573
How far in advance do I need to call to schedule my day in the Shadowing Program?
We begin taking reservations on September 1st for the upcoming school year. We recommend that students interested in the Shadowing Program should contact Barat Academy at least one week in advance. To schedule your visit, please contact Director of Admissions Jake A. Schuchardt at firstname.lastname@example.org
What can I expect from my experience?
The Shadowing Program is designed to give a student the most comprehensive Barat experience possible. Students can choose a half day or full day option with lunch included in both options.

What is the dress code for a visitor?
Because we would like to give the most comprehensive Barat Experience, visitors are encouraged to either wear their school uniform or to dress appropriately which consists of (boys - a collared shirt and dress pants, belt, tennis shoes, socks) (girls – dress pants or skirt, school appropriate shirt and closed toed shoes). Please no cargo pants or shorts.
Can my Ambassador be a Barat student that I already know?
If you know a current student, please let us know at the time you schedule your visit. Usually, we can pair you with that student as your Ambassador.
What if there is an emergency while my son or daughter is at Barat?
Visitors must leave an emergency number with the admissions office where a parent or guardian can be reached. Barat does have trained staff to accommodate if immediate assistance is required or medical needs must be met.
