Barat Academy

Alumna Kathryn Ross '11 heads to Tanzania with Peace Corps

Barat Academy recently heard from Founding Class Member Kathryn Ross '11.  We wanted to share her exciting news!

"I hope you are doing well and the students of Barat have big smiles on their faces! Although I do not think I will be able to make it to graduation this year, I would love to stop by Barat and have a chance to catch up with you after my own graduation <from Haverford College, PA> in May.

I write to you today with an update on my life. I am extremely grateful and honored to announce my acceptance to the Peace Corps. On July 5th I will leave for Tanzania to teach English. My service with last a little over 2 years and I will return to the States in September of 2017. I am so excited to start this new adventure in my life, and once again reminded of how luck I am to be a Barat Academy alumna. Barat opened many doors for me, the Peace Corps being just one. Thank you for the direction you have given me and the constant support you continue to show. Without you, and Barat Academy, I would not be where I am today.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. " -Kathryn Ross

The Class of 2016 Celebrates Junior Ring

The Class of 2016 took a step forward as leaders of the Barat Student community by celebrating the time honored tradition of the blessing and receiving of their school rings.  Father Sean Martin presided over the celebration.  The Class of 2015 student leaders presented their junior classmates with their beautiful signet rings engraved with the school crest.

Student selected speakers Cameron Fearn and Elizabeth Burkemper  represented their class and spoke eloquently about what Barat means to the Class of 2016 and how this class will move forward as leaders in a global society.
