Congratulations to junior Madison Heuermann on having her charcoal drawing selected to represent one of the St. Louis Area's 100 Neediest Cases. Madison's drawing placed in the top 40 of hundreds of entries.
Congratulations to Rachel Bohn, Alto, Grace Fink, Soprano, and Maddie, Mullen, Soprano, for being selected into the Saint Louis Metro District 8 All-District Choir. We are very proud of these fine musicians! Kudos to Maddie for also being selected to audition for the Missouri All-State Choir!
Barat Academy is pleased to announce sophomores Helen Lyu , Courtney Borich and Madison Heuermann placed First, Second and Third Place respectively at the 7th Annual Sustainability: It’s an Art (Eco-Art) Exhibit. This juried competition was sponsored by St. Louis Community College at Wildwood. Seven area high schools participated in the show, which highlighted two- and three-dimensional work that speaks to environmental consciousness.
Faculty Member, Katheryn Fenske was recently featured as a guest conductor at Tennessee Tech University’s Festival of Winds and Percussion. This event marked its 52nd year in February of 2015 with guest conductors, Colonel John Bourgeois, Commander, “The President’s Own” USMC Band, retired, Philip Sparke, Composer in residence, London, U.K., Rod M. Chesnutt, Florida Gulf Coast University, and Katheryn Fenske, Barat Academy. The Festival gives the very finest instrumentalists in the six-state region an opportunity to play with other students from the region, work with a guest composer on music he/she has written, and experience music creation at the highest level. Kathy’s newest published work, “Three Brazilian Folksongs” was performed in this concert.
