Student Artwork Showcased This Weekend

Liz Luo's painting "Community Conversations at the Park" will be featured at West County Mall through the entire weekend. On Saturday, April 14th, members of United Way Teen were invited to open the exhibit to engage with mall patrons about the work that United Way does to build strong communities. Below, Liz talks about her own painting.

Community Conversations at the Park

Many times we go to community places to enjoy the company of others—sometimes quietly as we enjoy the sights and sounds around us, and sometimes with a friend and their family. Either way, community parks serve as a way to connect with nature, ourselves, friends, and meet people that we experience new connections with. Relaxed and recharged, we return to our jobs, schools and homes with a renewed sense of ourselves, our direction for the day, and creative thoughts for the days ahead.

Artist: Liz Luo is a Freshman from Barat Academy High School.
