Faith at Barat PDF Print

Faith is the driving force behind Barat’s very existence as a school. As part of fostering a learning environment where students and adults live Christ-centered values, the Barat community gathers each morning for prayer.. Guided by our Campus Minister students, teachers, and staff all participate in creating sacred space and uplifting our core values:

,

  • A personal and active faith in God
  • A deep respect for intellectual values
  • A social awareness which impels to action
  • The building of community as a Christian value
  • Personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom

Likewise, we end each day with five minutes of personal reflection aimed at shaping an attitude of gratitude for our many blessings and opportunities to deepen our relationships with God and each other.

In keeping with the tradition of Sacred Heart education, mass is celebrated each month on first Fridays. Additional feast day liturgies occur throughout the school year.

Students are required to take Theology as part of the curriculum each of their four years on campus. This allows students to study Catholic doctrine, Catholic history, scripture, world religions, and prayerful living.

The Association of the Christian Faithful is the canonical board which maintains and directs Barat’s mission and charism as a faith-based school operating in the 21st century.
